About

Sarah Schepens
I have lived on four out of the seven continents and hope to visit 40 countries by the time I'm 40. The beach and all things tropical is my happy place, though coconut is the only food I truly hate. You could bribe me with spicy Thai food, Halloum cheese, or French Baguettes -- they are my weakness. I have an MA in Intercultural Studies and have started to delve into the world of Cultural Intelligence consulting. I’m an Enneagram 4, so appreciate all things unique and artistic expression, which to me defines the essence of culture.

I’m a multiracial, multicultural, and multilingual millennial.
I’m originally from California, currently living in Washington, DC and learning how different the West and East Coasts are. I enjoy a diversity of things that maybe don’t always typically go together. For example, I like watching Jeopardy at 7:30, videogame streamers, Steph Curry playing basketball, Dragonball Z, and any animal show on marine life. When it comes to food, I like sushi, BBQ, and my guilty pleasure… All-you-can-eat buffets. When I travel, I like to scuba dive, visit zoos, and see what’s noticeably different in grocery stores.

What’s up! ¿Cómo estás? My name is Marcos and I love meeting people and learning through new experiences. Whether for fun or work, I love traveling; I’ve been to over 35 different countries and have a goal of at least 50! I’m originally from Puerto Rico, but I’ve had the opportunity to also live in in different states across the US. I studied chemistry and religion for my undergrad and got a Masters in Theology and cross-cultural studies – I know, I’m all over the place. Anyways, I now work in NYC and when I'm not traveling, I’m either snowboarding, hiking, playing the piano, cooking, at the beach, or pwning noobs online.

I am a firm believer that many of life’s woes can be solved by a day at the beach, or ‘down the shore,’ as my fellow New Jerseyians call it. When I'm not at work as an ER nurse, you can find me plotting my next vacation, baking bread or dabbling in modern calligraphy. Married to Marcos, I have embraced Latino culture—my favorite foods now include mofongo, maduros and mojitos!

I am a proud Californian currently living in our nation's capital. I have a degree in deaf studies from Gallaudet University, I consume large amounts of chips and salsa daily, and I am the textbook definition of a middle child. When I am not podcasting you can find me knitting socks and sweaters, baking treats, or hanging out with my sweet pup...so pretty much the same things your grandma does.
